The Association involves a cross-section of environmental educators from diverse areas such as schools, government agencies, industry, universities, technical & further education centres, zoos, museums, parks and reserves, environmental education centres and community and conservation groups.

Australian Association for Environmental Education WA Inc (AAEE) seeks to: promote environmental education (EE) as defined by UNESCO/UNEP; develop projects for broad application within EE; promote coordination among bodies engaged in EE & training; publish, distribute, and disseminate matters arising out of and in connection with the Association & EE; hold conferences, meetings, seminars and gatherings to promote EE; publish a journal of environmental education.
