Mantinea Plain hydrogeological investigation preliminary results

The Western Australian Government is investigating the feasibility of extending the Ord River Irrigation Area to accommodate an increased demand for irrigation land. This report presents the hydrogeological information available to date on the Mantinea Plain to assist in irrigation development planning. The report recommends that, to complete the study on Mantina Plain, drilling be undertaken to clearly define the extent and thickness of sediments beneath the Plain, and to define the water table configuration, and the distribution of groundwater salinity (A).
